ALPR Usage and Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026This policy explains how Logrrr LLC ("Logrrr") uses, protects, shares and retains automated license plate recognition ("ALPR") information. It is published under California Civil Code sections 1798.90.51 and 1798.90.53 and applies to all ALPR information Logrrr holds, wherever the customer is located.
1. What ALPR information Logrrr holds
Logrrr does not own or operate cameras. Logrrr's customers operate their own camera systems at their own locations and send Logrrr license plate detection events: the plate text and read confidence, the camera, the date and time, the location, and optionally a thumbnail image or short video clip. Logrrr stores this information and derives from it, on its own servers, vehicle records, matches, the vehicle's colour and type and a numeric description of its appearance ("ALPR information"). Each customer owns its ALPR information and decides what is collected, how long it is kept and who in its organization can see it. Logrrr holds it on the customer's behalf under its Terms of Service and Data Processing Addendum (/dpa).
2. Authorized purposes (§1798.90.51(b)(1))
Logrrr uses and accesses ALPR information only to:
- provide the Logrrr service to the customer who sent it: storing it, and providing search, dashboards, reports, alerts, webhooks, exports and deletion at that customer's direction;
- provide support the customer asks for;
- investigate abuse of the service or a security incident; and
- comply with the law, as described in Section 6.
Logrrr does not use ALPR information for any other purpose. In particular, Logrrr does not sell it, share it between customers, combine or search across customers' data, use it to identify people, run facial recognition or facial analysis, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models except where a customer has opted in to feedback sharing, as described in the Privacy Policy (/privacy, Section 4).
3. Who may access ALPR information, and training (§1798.90.51(b)(2))
- Customers: each customer's own users, with the roles the customer gives them in the console. The customer is responsible for its own users.
- Logrrr: only the Managing Member of Logrrr LLC has access today. Logrrr may authorize other employees or contractors in future, by job title, only where their work requires it.
- Conditions for Logrrr access: a Logrrr person may view a customer's ALPR information only for a purpose in Section 2, through Logrrr's staff administration site, after recording a reason and a reason category (support, abuse, security, or legal requirement). Every view appears in that customer's access log in the console.
- Training: before anyone at Logrrr is given access, and every year after, they must read this policy and sign that they have done so and will follow it, and sign a confidentiality agreement. Logrrr keeps a record of each signature.
4. Monitoring for security and compliance (§1798.90.51(b)(3))
- Every view of ALPR information by Logrrr staff is recorded with the date and time, the staff member, what was viewed, and the reason. The customer sees these views in its own access log.
- The console records each customer's own users' access and searches, and the customer can view and export that record.
- The Managing Member reviews the staff access record every month for any access without a proper reason, and records that the review was done.
- Logrrr protects ALPR information with the security measures in Annex 2 of the Data Processing Addendum, including encryption in transit and at rest, a staff site protected by an outside identity check and a one-time code, US-only staff access, least-privilege database access, and continuous monitoring of the service.
- A suspected misuse or security incident is investigated at once, and customers are notified as the Data Processing Addendum (Section 8) describes.
5. Sale, sharing and transfer (§1798.90.51(b)(4))
- Logrrr never sells ALPR information.
- Logrrr does not share or transfer ALPR information to anyone except:
- the customer that owns it, and anyone that customer directs it to (for example by an export, a webhook or the API);
- Logrrr's sub-processors listed at /sub-processors, only to host and deliver the service, under contract and only in the United States;
- in response to legal process, as described in Section 6.
- Logrrr does not share one customer's ALPR information with another customer, including a government or law-enforcement customer, without the owning customer's direction or legal process.
6. Requests from law enforcement and others
Logrrr discloses ALPR information to a government agency or other third party only as described in its Law Enforcement Request Guidelines (/law-enforcement): with a search warrant or the owning customer's consent, or in a narrowly defined emergency involving an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury. Logrrr notifies the customer first unless the law prohibits it, and publishes a yearly count of requests.
7. Official custodian (§1798.90.51(b)(5))
The official custodian responsible for implementing this policy is the Managing Member, Logrrr LLC, 55 SE 2nd Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444. Contact: legal@logrrr.com.
8. Accuracy and correction (§1798.90.51(b)(6))
- ALPR information is what the customer's cameras read; Logrrr does not change plate reads. Each read keeps the camera's confidence score, and the console shows the image so the customer can check a read.
- Customers can correct the records they control: rename or merge vehicles, mark matches as wrong, add notes, and hide or delete individual reads. Logrrr's matching uses the customer's corrections for that customer's account only.
- If Logrrr finds an error in how its service stored or processed ALPR information, it corrects it and tells affected customers where the error mattered.
- ALPR information is not a system of record and may contain misreads; customers should confirm a read before acting on it (Terms, Section 12).
9. Retention and destruction (§1798.90.51(b)(7))
- How long: each customer sets its own retention period by its plan and settings. Where state law limits retention at a location, Logrrr enforces the limit regardless of the plan (see /state-rules). Customers can delete any record at any time.
- When it is destroyed: when a record reaches the end of its retention period, or the customer deletes it, images and video are removed from storage within minutes and identifying fields are cleared at once; remaining non-identifying billing records are deleted once that month has been invoiced. When an account is closed, its ALPR information is deleted 30 days later, after the export window.
- Backups: deleted information may remain in encrypted, write-protected backups for up to 30 days, until each backup is removed. Backups are used only for disaster recovery; deletions are replayed after any restore.
- Legal holds: where a legal hold or court order applies, Logrrr may suspend deletion of the affected information for as long as the law requires.
10. Changes
Logrrr updates this policy when its practices or the law change, and shows the date of the last change at the top.
