Get an API key

Enter the email your account should belong to. Your key is ready straight away, and you can start setup before you confirm the email.

Some states limit who may use license plate readers, so we check this before creating your account. You can add locations in other states later.

You can add more keys later in the console, under Settings → API keys.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

You'll go straight to your console, which shows your key and the webhook details for step 02. We'll also email you the key and a link to confirm your address.

Connect UniFi Protect

logrrr reads UniFi Protect's built-in Alarm Manager webhooks directly. No plugin, no extra hardware, no separate NVR.

  1. Open Alarm Manager

    In UniFi Protect, go to Settings → System → Alarm Manager (some consoles list it directly under Settings) and select Create Alarm.

  2. Set the trigger

    Under ID Recognition, choose License Plate Recognition and check Unknown Vehicles and Known Vehicles. Add Vehicle of Interest too if you keep a watch list.

  3. Set the scope

    Choose Include and select the plate-reading cameras logrrr should hear from. Select every camera you want logged.

  4. Add a webhook action

    Add Action → Webhook → Custom Webhook. Set the Delivery URL to the webhook address shown with your API key after you sign up, and the method to POST.

  5. Add your key as a header

    In the webhook's advanced settings, add a header named Authorization with the value Bearer, a space, then your API key. Without it, logrrr can't tell which account the events belong to.

  6. Turn on thumbnails

    Under Advanced Settings, enable Use Thumbnails so plate snapshots come through with each event.

  7. Save and test

    Save the alarm, then drive or walk a plate past a covered camera. It should appear in your logrrr activity within a few seconds.

Menu names vary slightly by UniFi OS version. Alarm Manager sits under Settings → System on most consoles, or Settings → Alarm Manager on newer ones. The trigger and scope steps are the same either way.
Works with any UniFi Protect camera that reads license plates. If a camera offers License Plate Recognition in its Protect settings, logrrr can log it.
